Nominating Committee National Leader |
|
I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to hone my meeting management and facilitation skills through leadership roles as president of my district and state associations, as chair of the Diabetes Care and Education DPG and in multiple committee chair roles. These leadership roles gave me valuable experience to strengthen my speaking and writing skills. In 2013, I proposed the topic of research as a mega issue and it subsequently became the mega issue for the spring 2014 HOD meeting. |

What do you see as opportunities for the future of the nutrition and dietetics profession?
I am excited about the challenges the future brings to our profession. We have so many great minds and dedicated members who will meet those challenges. Our leaders have shown that they are responsive in times of crisis and will listen to members and make needed changes. Our members are not afraid to speak up and know that they will be heard. We are not an organization of dictators. We are collegial and believe in each other. Our diversity is valued.
