I have served on the AND BOD as President (president-elect and past-president) and Director-at-Large, and in that capacity traveled extensively to present at DPG and State Affiliate meetings and to partner organizations. Having served as a Delegate and on most major committees within the Academy, I have a breadth of knowledge regarding the work of volunteers, and an extensive professional network. Since serving as the academy President, I have also served on CDR board which provided strong insight into the credentialing process and related issues. As a member of CDR, I served as Chair of the Dietetics Workforce Demand Study which provided in-depth understanding of issues impacting the future of the profession. |

I also led the effort to develop the Evidence Based Practice Guidelines Committee, and advance the on-line library for evidence-based practice guidelines to be available to members, as well as establishing then Nutrition Service Payment committee. I led the process to develop the MIG's and bring these groups into AND's structure. | |

What do you see as opportunities for the future of the nutrition and dietetics profession?
Dietetics is a great career and provides outstanding opportunities to make an impact in today's world. Expanding diversity in membership and professional roles remains an important focus for the future. The 21st century holds exciting promise for dietetic professionals to positively influence food and nutrition choices and food supply both locally and globally. Building Academy leadership that can advance these opportunities would be my mission.
