I am fortunate to have been involved in a variety of experiences that have given me a well-rounded understanding of the profession. My job positions as well as numerous committee and leadership opportunities have provided me with skills in team-building, advocacy, education, compromise, change, decision-making, and continuing to enhance our profession. As a liaison to the Academy PIA, I advocate for policy issues of concern to the profession and provide action alert messages to members. I also provide leadership to the Public Policy Team, helping to coordinate state policy activities and advocacy efforts, including continued efforts toward state licensure. | |

I act as a liaison to the board on policy issues affecting members at the state and national level. I am able to provide a historical perspective to younger board members from my long-term participation with the board in different capacities, as well as involvement with committees at the national level. Campaign Statement
As I have progressed through my professional life, I have learned the importance of flexibility. Dietetics and our Academy are evolving; flexibility is vital to future decisions. My ability to be flexible is a skill I can contribute as a leader.
