When our Dietetic Licensure was threatened to be eliminated due to state budget cuts, I met with key state legislative and agency officials and helped secure our state dietetic license. | |

What do you see as opportunities for the future of the nutrition and dietetics profession?
As the Academy enters its second century, our dedicated members are ready to play a lead role in improving the health of people worldwide through food and nutrition. Our research-driven expertise, experience, and focus on education and public policy have produced real results in meeting such global challenges as malnutrition, food insecurity, and chronic disease. As the Academy continues to work collaboratively with other stakeholders, we can help create a healthier future for all.

It has been an honor to serve the Academy at the state and national levels, and I am proud of the difference our knowledge and commitment make. As Speaker, I will work to ensure that the RDN and NDTR are the recognized nutrition and food experts.
