ACEND Practitioner Representative, Nutrition and Dietetics Technician, Registered (NDTR) |
|
During my 25 years as a Dietary Director I served as a preceptor/mentor for several dietetic technician students. It was very rewarding and challenging to help mold future NDTR's. I have been a part of the advisory board for 2 different programs here in Oklahoma. The first program was the program I graduated from, OSU Okmulgee and the otheòr program is at OSU OKC where I am still a member of the board. I enjoy learning about the way we educate the future RDNs and NDTRs. |

What do you see as opportunities for the future of the nutrition and dietetics profession?
I feel I can bring a different approach to the table being a outsider of the academic world. It is very exciting to see the educational standards being raised to the masters and bachelors levers. I feel that is putting us in line with other professions. The NDTR is a vital member of the healthcare team. I feel very strongly about moving the NDTR forward and promoting the credential.
