1) Delaware Affiliate President and Pediatric Nutrition DPG Chair, along with ClinicalNutrition Management DPG, HOD and Quality Management Committee - provided wide network to groups and their members. 2) With Delaware and PNPG, I led revisions of Strategic Plans to support Academy goals that met the needs of our members. 3) Strong communication and critical thinking skills were used in my work as a Clinical Manager, and with Delaware RDs and legislators as we achieved Licensure for RDs. These skills also supported Quality Leader TF to bring quality resources to Academy members. |

Worked with QMC staff - publication of Huddles on eatrightpro.com - Winter 2019. | |
Quality Management Committee member | Academy of Nurition and Dietetics | 2015 - 2018 | Supported the work of the Quality Management Committee through development of the Quality Resource Collection, Quality Improvement Modules, review of Focus Scope/Standards of Practice and Professional Performance Revisions. With the Quality Strategies Workgroup, developed the Quality Leader Alliance (Task Force). Participated in the selection process of first QLTF members through application reviews. Responded to the Academy’s many requests for pediatric nutrition specialists to be involved in committees/initiatives at Academy and national level. Began plans for 2011 PNPG Symposium. Led major revision of PNPG Strategic Plan to align with Academy Strategic Plan and PNPG member requests. | |
President | Delaware Affiliate - Delaware Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (Delaware Dietetics Association) | 2006 - 2007 | Provided leadership to the Delaware Affiliate Board in the completion of Plan of Work for this year, including a successful Nutrition Conference. Major undertaking for this year was the decision by the Board and membership to pursue licensure for RDs. Working closely with the Licensure lead (Past President), the DE Licensure committee and the Academy DC office, Licensure for RDS was accomplished with successful passage by both legislative houses and signed by our DE Governor. |
Endless opportunities in our work and as leaders! Here are a few! Where RDNs and NDTRs practice in clinical and public health nutrition, I see the diagnosis and treatment of malnutrition, leading to enhanced quality of life and healthcare cost containment . Evidence based practice resulting in better outcomes in all areas of healthcare - RDNs, NDTRs as key team members! With changes in education requirements for our incoming RDNs and NDTRs - new practitioners ready to and expected to achieve at higher levels in dietetics and nutrition. Ready to be active members of the Academy!
