Change does not occur because of any single individual; it is a collective effort. My experience on diverse boards shows a passion to think strategically, raise important questions, and foster teamwork that promotes solutions for all credentialed practitioners. Collaboratively, I’ve provided broad vision alongside specific details, and balanced these skills with both fun and serious leadership. I am encouraged to see and be a part of the Academy’s nutrition solutions for the next century. |

What do you see as opportunities for the future of the nutrition and dietetics profession?
Our long-term future requires that we keep one question in mind – Are we preparing credentialed practitioners to be the BEST food and nutrition leaders? The challenge is great, and we must be more open-minded, and more agile and responsive to meet this challenge. We must work as teams to solve complicated problems within complex organizations. Our real purpose is to serve as THE bridge between where we are, what we are, and where we need to be in order to advance science and practice.
Campaign Statement
Mindful leadership in dietetics is about commitment and communication, and even more about using these skills to capture the imagination and enthusiasm of others. I believe in serving our profession as a leader with others rather than of others.
