Nominating Committee National Leader |
|
I have been an engaged member of our professional organization throughout my career having served in leadership positions with 2 DPGs-DNS and CNM, and in the HOD. I also have served in leadership roles in ASPEN. Interfacing with dietitians in all these areas provides a sense of the issues important to them. In my current role I use strategic planning as a primary management tool for department direction, aligning strategies with those of AND's and my own organization. I feel I can be effective, act with confidence and integrity to support the mission and vision of AND in this role. |
Director-at-Large |
|
As an ASPEN BOD member I am familiar with the roles and responsibilities of assessing issues, providing direction and developing solutions for a large professional organization. Personal beliefs and ideas maybe required to set aside to reach consensus for the betterment of the organization. Maintaining integrity of our organization is the key to its success. |

What do you see as opportunities for the future of the nutrition and dietetics profession?
We are seeing a significant and growing interest in nutrition across the country, like no other time in history. The role of nutrition in acute and chronic disease and in prevention and wellness is finally recognized as a necessary part of all stages of health. With advances in medical and nutrition science comes the opportunity for RDNs and NDTRs to translate the evidence into its safe applicability in caring for patients and clients. Continuing to build our profile as the nutrition experts is paramount.
