Dietetic professionals are uniquely positioned to positively impact food safety & sustainability, reduce malnutrition & chronic disease, & conduct & translate science-based research. To meet societal needs, dietetic professionals must expand the diversity & cultural competence of practitioners to reflect the communities they serve. Dietetic professionals also must embrace the opportunity to gain respect, recognition & increased compensation by interdisciplinary positioning, expanding professional diversity, & using technology to enhance communication with the public, colleagues, & legislators.
I am eager to apply my HOD experience & leadership ability to address and resolve professional issues including expanding diversity, interdisciplinary respect, increased compensation, advocacy, & using technology to communicate with stakeholders.
