Strengths/Skills
2. Cooperation/Teamwork: I always come to the table with a cooperative attitude to work as a team in order to achieve the tasks at hand. I do my research and pre-work in order to be prepared for meetings, to show respect for the other team members and to promote productivity.
3. Efficient work and long-standing knowledge of dietetics education: I have been working with the DPD for 16 years, gone through 4 sets of standards, and written 2 self studies/1 PAR. I've attended every NDEP conference and am excited to take on a leadership role.
Contributions and Leadership Achievements
Organization | Position | Term | Contribution |
NDEP | NDEP Program Director Mentor | '22-'23, '23-'24 | I mentored 2 program directors the first year and 1 director this current year. We meet on Zoom and/or communicate via email regarding a variety of DPD topics. The current DPD Director that I’m mentoring took over a program that did not leave the program organized or set up sufficiently. We have connected several times to go through the 2022 Standards, required record keeping documents, and ideas for a presentation she needed to provide to her department. |
Dietetics Steering Committee, Department of Food Science and Nutrition | Active member | From January 2021 to present | This committee has been very active and efficient as we've navigated changes to dietetics education. On this committee, I helped with the creation of the Dietetics Masters in Professional Studies (MPS), assisted with relevant changes to the Dietetic Internship, and am currently leading the way for significant changes to the DPD curriculum. |
Dietetics Masters in Professional Studies, Food Science and Nutrition | Graduate faculty adviser | '23-'24, ongoing | I work specifically with students who are fulfilling DPD requirements while in the graduate program to ensure all knowledge requirements and course expectations are met. In addition, I help other MPS students who have already completed the DPD make sure they are meeting the course requirements of the MPS as well as finding relevant course options to meet their goals and interests. |
Center for Interprofessional Health, University of Minnesota | Dietetics Program Liasson | January 2019 - current | The Center for Interprofessional Health provides interprofessional education (IPE) opportunities for all health science students at the University of Minnesota.
