Leadership Experience

Member - BOD's Individualized Supervised Practice Pathways Workgroup American Dietetic Association - Assists in facilitating and implementing additional supervised practice opportunities for qualified students; solicits and synthesizes feedback from young members regarding proposed pathways and reports this information to the workgroup.
Member - Member Value Committee American Dietetic Association - Spoke at the 2011 Affiliate Training regarding ways to engage and involve young members; develops ways to recruit and retain newer members, including the proposal of a graduated dues increase for 1-5 year active members; reviews and makes recommendations for revising the affiliate Outstanding Dietitian of the Year (ODY) award; reviews the outcomes of the eMentoring system and works to obtain testimonials from users, both mentor and mentee.
Member - Nominating Committee Kansas Dietetic Association - Works with other committee members to develop and submit a proposed slate of candidates to the Kansas Dietetic Association Board; develops an annual plan of work for recruiting members for leadership positions and communicating the benefits of KDA leadership to members; develops and distributes a welcome packet to new graduates and dietitians relocating to the area with information regarding the Association and state licensure application instructions.
Treasurer Wichita Dietetic Association - Serves as the chief financial officer of the Association; serves as a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee; maintains custody of all funds, securities, and financial records of receipts and disbursements; formulates the annual budget for the following Association year with input from Board members and submits to the Board for approval; reports the financial status of the Association to the Board of Directors, the membership and to Kansas Dietetic Association.
Chair - Student Advisory Committee American Dietetic Association - Presided over all SAC meetings and served as the ADA representative to other student associations; assigned tasks as needed and made the concerns of the SAC and student members known to appropriate ADA staff while coordinating the work of the SAC; represented one of the geographic regions of the country; served as the student liaison to the ADA Board of Directors; attended ADA Leadership Institute, Scottsdale, AZ and Dallas, TX.
