Leadership Experience

Leadership Position Organization Years Involved in the Organization My specific leadership contributions, achievements and outcomes:
Member CDR The American Dietetic Association - I represented the Registered Dietitian in reviewing some of the initial exciting elements for the future in education for the Registered Dietitian. I also chaired the Appeals Panel and helped to identify some changes regarding the losing of one's registration due to non payment where the outcome was some modification in the timing and the expense for keeping registration which was a member benefit.
State of Michigan Delegate Michigan Dietetic Association - Served on the Quality Management committee when we were just investigating the Nutrition Care Model, and assisted with bringing this forward. During the implementation of the portfolio and personal plans did many presentations around the State regarding this, and still mentor several individuals in their goals, organization and personal plans.
Public Policy Chairperson Diabetes Care and Education - Helped to have the practice group become more involved with the Washington Office by having the Director speak at an executive meeting, and have the DCE chairperson and DCE chairperson- elect actually visit the Washington office for strategic planning of the two entities.
President-Michigan Dietetic Association Michigan Dietetic Association - Established the legislative team for the sole purpose of getting the Registered Dietitian licensed in the State of Michigan. Also, helped to streamline all of the policies and procedures during the ADA strategic plans and changing of the term of office.
Co-Chair 2000 Michigan Dietetic Association State Meeting Michigan Dietetic Association - Our State was in a financial crisis during this time. This conference was a success due to the outstanding speakers who were all sponsored, record breaking attendance, and the most income made in the history of the State while all members had fun and great networking opportunities.

I love the field of Dietetics and am willing to work for you to strengthen our profession with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as we face our future challenges. I work well with many different types of people, and feel that I have the values, attitude, and vision to represent you.
