HOD At-Large Delegate: Nutrition and Dietetics Technician, Registered |
|
To this position I bring the experience of involment in previous leadership activities in which I have contributed the perspective of the DTR. Through such activities I have strengthened my interpersonal and professional communication skills, as well as independent decision making skills. In addition to the ability to make decisions independently, I also thrive on learning from my peers and find that working as a part of a team allows the achievement of optimal results. Another unique attribute that I have is the ability to think insightfully yet rationally, and critically but with practicality. Most importantly, I have maintained my DTR credential for the past 15 years, and have been active in the Academy to prove that the DTR can be vital in our role on the RD/DTR team, in the Academy, and in our individual practice by highlighting our skill set and representing the DTR credential on a national level. |

DTR Practitioner Representative | ACEND | - | As a member of the ACEND Board of Directors I have contributed my ability to think with insight and rationality. My leadership style is expressed in a manner through which I clearly and confidently express thoughts and ideas to incite actions that move the group towards productivity and obtaining efficacious results with positive outcomes. This has been demonstrated by the Board's development of an ad hoc committee that would address the needs of underperforming nutrition and dietetics education programs. I was appointed to this committee because of my concern in seeing all dietetics and nutrition education programs meet the ACEND educational standards, and voicing these concerns. I attribute my ability to communicate ideas with clarity, confidence, and conviction as the reason for my appointment to this committee and to the Consumer Protection and Licensure Committee as an ACEND liaison. | |
