1. During the entirety of my Treasurer-related term on the BOD, I’ve become extremely familiar with the important role and responsibilities of this critical team in leading our professional association. I embrace the futuristic changes we’ve made, support our newly implemented strategic plan, and frequently provide forward-thinking & diverse insights. I have also led the FAC, as well as been a member of the Foundation BOD, Compensation Committee, Governance Committee, and the CLL. As an Affiliate Past President & a DPG Past Chair, I worked collaboratively to develop strategic plans and re-implemented Legislative Day in Kentucky. 2. As a leader, I share globally-centered ideas, strategically focus on the needs of our members, and lead with diplomacy. 3. I’m easily able to express my thoughts and present solutions to various challenges. I enjoy speaking in front of large groups and collectively working together towards a common purpose. An example of this is when I presented the updated budget strategy to the DPG leadership group. 4. I demonstrate a strong commitment to the promotion of IDEA, and have actively participated in multiple culture-building discussions & initiatives. |

Opportunities abound for our profession in the future and my vision is to elevate the recognition of Registered Dietitian Nutritionists as the experts in our field. As professionals, we have a significant responsibility to help build healthier communities and to advance the science of nutrition & dietetics. We also have a duty to support efforts that focus on social responsibility, emerging trends, and on inclusion, diversity, equity & access. Empowering individuals with the education, tools & resources to be successful in the areas of clinical nutrition care, leadership, food as medicine, healthy food systems and technological advances in AI are essential at this crucial time. Together, we must use this remarkable opportunity before us to utilize our expansive skill-sets to collaborate and advocate for nutritional health, food security & wellness on a global scale.
