As a member of several Boards of non-profit organizations, I have gained significant experience in mission oriented strategic planning. I have successfully managed planning, funding and implementing multi-million dollar budgets as well as reviewing financial audits and reporting forms. I have confidently led and engaged in review and update of bylaws, policies and procedures, board and staff strategic planning retreats and fundraising. I currently serve on a Finance Committee and as a Treasurer. I consider myself an ambassador for the Academy, my state affiliate as well as my district, DPGs and MIG by promoting our profession. My role on the Council on Future Practice think tank allows me to remain cognizant of the challenges and opportunities in dietetics. |

Persuaded the NCDA board to send the legislative team to PPW, provided guidance on Hill visits and worked on creating the work plan for NCDA. The ever-evolving world of food and nutrition science demands we lead in interpreting this information. Practitioners implementing research in nutrigenomics, integrative, alternative therapies, and the use of new technologies continue to increase the profession’s value and visibility. The foodie millennials hungry for the best resources to make their nutrition decisions will continue to challenge us. As "food and nutrition experts" we should be part of the solution to create a healthier world!
Keen observation and detail skills are my strengths. Building consensus and asking for input from diverse participants are key to my leadership style for successful project outcomes. I’m empowered by my values and our profession’s mission and vision.
