I served as chair of IND MIG and President of CA Academy and Orange District and worked towards positive changes as I worked very close to the Academy and interacted with the Academy CEO, Presidents etc. I have been a strong advocate of diverse member-driven communication and activities. Some examples are planning a Diversity Holiday Festival in collaboration with all MIGs, multiple CEU and networking events. Yes, as a leader, you encounter many challenging opportunities and we faced those as CA Academy and, together as a board, we worked to solve them. Making our board more diverse by recruiting diverse leaders in various ways was the main goal. Overall, my decades of leadership experience at state/district/DPG/MIG and affiliate level exposed me to all skills and attributes, and I am willing to take the role of Director at large and serve our organization and diverse membership. |

Personal and Campaign Statements
I am committed to elevating the presence of Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) and NDTRs in every work setting by fostering collaboration, advancing member engagement, and strengthening our profession’s collective voice. As a servant leader, I believe the Academy thrives when members feel heard, supported, and empowered to lead in diverse practice areas. My goal is to build bridges—connecting RDNs and NDTRs with one another, with communities, and with other professional organizations and our legislators —to expand our reach and demonstrate the essential role of nutrition experts in all sectors. I will advocate for inclusivity, innovation, and evidence-based practice to ensure that our members are equipped to meet the evolving needs of the populations we serve. Together, we can amplify our impact, strengthen partnerships, and create opportunities that highlight the indispensable contributions of RDNs across healthcare, education, policy, industry, and beyond. With collaboration, service, and vision, I am dedicated to advancing our profession and empowering every member to succeed.
I will bring servant leadership, integrity, listening, and collaboration to the Board. Working with our dedicated leaders, I will support the Academy’s strategic priorities and help strengthen our profession, elevate member voices, and guide our shared future.
