1.HOD Table Facilitator for the past 6 years coupled with being elected as affiliate President (2012-2014) and the college Curriculum Committee chair (2016-2018), I am well versed in this skill. 2. Communication is natural and a necessity in my role as Department Chair along with serving as affiliate delegate for 6 years. 3. HOD Culture team member has provided an insider's view on pertinent issues impacting our profession. I have taken the lead on several projects involving policy, communication and advocacy. 4. As affiliate liaison and department chair, I inspire and lead these efforts. |

Affiliate Delegate, HOD Culture Team Member and HOD Table Facilitator | Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics | 2015 - 2021 | Keen focus on shaping the culture of the HOD with specific emphasis on diversity, delegate training, leadership development, best practices in communication to members (surveyed current delegates), delegate role in public policy (produced a video) and tracking decision-making and outcomes. I also served as Table Facilitator (TF) every year, recently invited back as a non-delegate TF. These roles helped me demonstrate diplomacy to understand viewpoints from the lens of a variety of different delegates representing different states and internationally, as well as DPGs and MIGs. | |

What do you see as opportunities for the future of the nutrition and dietetics profession?
The future for RDNs and NDTRs is bright! We need to focus on building our brand, strengthening our leadership skills and collectively taking action. Population health is of vital importance. We must be strategic, bold and at the table when decisions are made. I believe in the collective wisdom of our members and our crucial role in healthcare. Now is the time to step up and lead the change while positioning ourselves to be forward thinking and agile in our decision-making, leading to action!
