 As a CDR IW Panel member, I have learned the intricacies of credentialing and how fundamental it is to the profession.
As a DI Director, I demonstrate competency assessment and measure policies to produce high quality programs.
My experiences have allowed me to become intimately familiar with the accreditation and credentialing requirements.
For over 3 years, I have been on a journey to encourage the discussion and incorporation of negotiation into the profession.
I have created a DI program that promotes IDEA. The outcomes of diverse interns have been achieved during my tenure.

Leadership Experience

Examination Panel Leader Commission on Dietetic Registration 2021 - I leverage my professional expertise and exam development knowledge to facilitate Item Pool Reviews and New Item Writing and Review Workshops for the RD registration examinations, offering a positive influence and asset to the 2021/22 exam development program. I lead a group of Subject Matter Experts to achieve Item Writing for the RD Exam in Domains 3 and 4.
Nomination Committee Chair Dietitians and Business & Communication DPG 2019 - 2021 I led a team to prepare an official ballot of elected positions through engaging and proactive recruitment. In addition, I served as a voting member on the Executive Committee.
President Bluegrass Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics 2014 - 2017 I supported BGAND in the overall leadership and management of the local affiliate group.
Webmaster Bluegrass Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics 2019 - 2022 I leveraged my knowledge of web and content design to create a highly reactive website while integrating integral SEO techniques to attract viewers to the site. In addition, I served on the Executive Committee.

What do you see as opportunities for the future of the nutrition and dietetics profession?

My goal is to advocate for and advance the RD credential. I leverage my experience and position to empower others through establishing high-quality standards and programs that are strategically considered and forward-looking. The outcome is a knowledgeable, well-trained, and confident practitioner that advocates for themselves and their credential. It’s critical to adapt to the changing landscape of our profession such as new standards of practice and the graduate-degree requirement, and I look forward to the opportunity to utilize my skillset to assist CDR in accomplishing these challenges.

Campaign Statement

I am a RD and Educator. I believe that hard work pays off, enthusiasm is critical to any success, and thinking of others should always come before thinking of yourself. My goal is to advance the RD credential by empowering those that wield it.
