HOD At-Large Delegate: Early Practitioner |
|
Navigating a technologically connected workforce, limited opportunity for leadership, and changes in educational requirements present unique concerns for young professionals. I will enhance engagement utilizing social media as a communication outlet. Increasing diversity starts with generating leadership roles; I can use my experience as the internship coordinator at my institution as a template to enhance opportunities nationally. As a former ACEND board member, I advocated for reduced fees to improve access to education. These skills in advocacy will translate to best serve my constituents. |

What do you see as opportunities for the future of the nutrition and dietetics profession?
As a dietitian dually trained in nutrition therapy and culinary arts, I routinely apply my knowledge of two fields in my clinical practice. With this experience, I can advocate for development of complementary skills for nutrition professionals and increase the value of dietitians to prospective employers. With the onset of Covid-19 we have an increased need to provide telehealth services and young dietitians can serve as leaders in this development. These experiences provide rich support in advancing our field for young professionals as your At-Large Delegate: 30 Years of Age and Under.
