HOD At-Large Delegate: Retired |
|
I have previous experience as an Affiliate Delegate for six years. I know the responsibilities of the Delegate Position. I had to solicit input from members of my state affiliate, usually done via our state newsletter, board meetings, and in-person state meetings. I have also served on the national board of directors of what was formerly AADE. I served as the Chair of Chapters and also as an at-large Delegate. The discussion of diversity of members was frequently discussed. I also Chaired a subgroup discussing levels of skills for various diabetes educator positions. |

What do you see as opportunities for the future of the nutrition and dietetics profession?
The Profession of Dietetics is being attacked by those who state providing nutrition information/counseling is a right of free speech. I support and will work to define our professional licensure and scope of practice. As a retired dietitian, I have practiced in many aspects of dietetics from Clinical Nutrition, Client Education, and Management of hospital Nutrition Services. As an Advanced Practitioner with credentials in Weight Management and Diabetes, I bring a strong insight to the issues facing us.
Campaign Statement
If elected, I will work tirelessly to advance the practice of Dietetics and promote the work of Dietitians in the many varied practice venues we work in.
