We may not come away from our conversation in total agreement, but we do come together with mutual respect. 3. What do you see as opportunities for the future of the nutrition and dietetics profession?
The impacts of changing demographics on education, worksites, and healthcare create opportunities for pipelines, mentoring, and interprofessional education. The creation of recruitment pipelines starting in middle schools will encourage a diverse student body to be excited about careers in nutrition and dietetics. Fostering worksite mentoring opportunities allows each generation to share expertise and mitigate the pending retirement crisis. Interprofessional education focused on long-term care and chronic disease prevention is integral for addressing U.S. healthcare needs.
