I have a wide range of leadership experiences at the local, affiliate, DPG, and national level; I do have a large network of contacts within these entities. The 2017 Strategic Plan has lofty impact goals; to meet them we will need to collaborate with like-minded organizations to develop strong and sustaining relationships. I have had many opportunities to communicate effectively with members of the Academy and other organizations and have worked in a variety of teams. |

Members collaborate across disciplines with international food and nutrition communities The BOD should always be thinking strategically on how to position the organization. As Speaker I was responsible for providing leadership to the HOD leadership team using the strategic governance model adopted in 2000. We would oversee the design and facilitation of the Mega Issues discussed at the bi-annual HOD meetings. During my time as work group member for AP the first examination was held and we are launching the obesity and weight management certification in March 2017. What do you see as opportunities for the future of the nutrition and dietetics profession?
As we enter our second 100 years as a profession and organization, it is imperative we select leaders that are visionary, strategic in their thinking, and collaborators. We will only be successful as a profession and organization if we select individuals that are focused on the mission, vision and goals of The Academy, passionate about the profession of nutrition and dietetics, fearless and willing to take risks, and engaged in the work they do.
