Nominating Committee National Leader |
|
I have served the AND in various capacities from chair to committees and have made connections that have lasted years. I speak from >17 years of experience in troubleshooting, benchmarking and improving processes. I have learned the most important step is to understand “Why,” and then explain that to your team. The interesting part is that your “Why” may not be the same as someone else’s “Why,” and that is okay. It is the bigger picture of the organization that we are all working towards and simply finding the understanding and motivation for your team is critical to success. |

What do you see as opportunities for the future of the nutrition and dietetics profession?
When I think of the future of dietetics, the AND is key to continuing to open doors, researching and encouraging the profession to grow. As the culture of nutrition changes, there are opportunities for dietetic professionals to grow in the area of wellness and prevention. There is also opportunity to expand our scope to further support the medical team. We should be the base for many medical interventions and even the broader picture of case management and community guidance. The AND is key in placing the best advocates in positions to influence the future of nutrition science and therapy.
