As a leader for the Academy including Hunger and Environmental Nutrition DPG, Latinos and Hispanics in Dietetics and Nutrition MIG and the Texas Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, I am well connected to nutrition leaders. 2. Serving on the HEN DPG and LAHIDAN MIG, provided the opportunity to be a part of strategic planning sessions to improve member experience. 3. My RD experience allows me to think critically while working with a team for a common goal. 4. As a Latina RD, I strive to encourage empathy, diversity and inclusion for our profession at all levels. |

Additionally, in 2025, I will be applying for an IDEA mini-grant to provide money for a deserving nutrition student of color to attend FNCE. |

Personal and Campaign Statements
What do you see as opportunities for the future of the nutrition and dietetics profession?
Our profession struggles with low paying salaries, decreased dietetic internship applicants and low RDN exam passage rates. We must ensure our professionals, including RDNs, DTRs and dietetic interns continue to grow in numbers and worth! I have a large network of dietetic colleagues in private practice, sales, clinical nutrition and academia. As a supporter of diversity and inclusion within the Academy, I have worked to expand D&I efforts in my leadership roles. As your Nominating Committee National Leader, I will present a diverse slate of leaders to bring positive change to the Academy.
