Commissioner and Chair | Commission on Dietetic Registration | 2014 - 2017 | It was very rewarding to have served on CDR in 2014 and as Chair for two consecutive terms. CDR’s collective outcomes included a new board specialist certification and the first interdisciplinary certification. The Professional Development Portfolio process was redesigned, inclusive of practice-based competencies and the new interactive goal wizard. CDR achieved its 100,000th credentialed practitioner during this time. These outcomes represent the hard work and commitment of several leaders I have had the sincere pleasure of working with and learning a great deal from. |
Marketing - a key opportunity exists for others to tell our valuable story, with instinct and enthusiasm. Next, a strategic investment in leadership development, applicable throughout the profession, will advance current and future opportunities and accelerate global health and well-being. Really, the opportunities are numerous and exciting, but we must be open-minded, agile, and responsive to meet the challenge. The Board serves as the bridge between where we are, what we are, and where we need to be in order to advance the numerous opportunities in science, education, advocacy, and practice.
High fives are difficult to do alone. Leadership occurs when others reach goals together, and instinctively do it again because they are inspired. I believe in serving as a leader with others rather than of others. Together, let’s tell our story!
