Worked the prior year as a co-member with the steering body of dietitian leaders to apply and nominate fellows of interprofessional practice in nutrition and dietetics as part of the inaugural class. |
Florida Dietetics and Nutrition Practice Council | Chair and Council Member | 2015-2023 | Served as a gubernatorial appointee and professional representative on the licensing board for the State of Florida. This body oversees the licensing activity of applicants seeking to approval under the laws and rules governing nutrition and dietetics practice. As the Chair for the eight years, the responsibilities of this position also entailed assuring a fair and equitable process and managing the meetings of the Council. Some speaking engagements around the state and testimony at legislative or regulatory hearings were also required. |
NASEM's Global Forum for Innovation in Health Care Education | Academy representative (appointed alternate) | 2023-current | Under the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine, representative serves on the Global Forum to continue the work on key issues affecting the future of professions education. In this role, rep attends national meetings to share the profession's perspective, collaborates on working committees, and advocates to keep nutrition and dietetics in the forefront of policy and standards decisions. |
NDEP - Interprofessional Education Committee | Member | 2017-current | As an active member of this NDEP subcommittee, I served to assist the committee's membership events such as planning for a webinar, writing newsletter articles, and preparing a printed communication tool about dietitians in IPE. Also, through this body, I was honored to be a co-author for a Journal article published in 2020 to update the Academy and its membership on the state of interprofessional practice. |
ACEND | Program Reviewer | 2018-current | Reappointed for my second term, in this role I have been trained to review programs seeking accreditation. My role supports the review process through verification of documents, visiting sites, and conducting the full gathering of information needed to help the ACEND Board make decisions. In the past year, I have started taking the lead role on the review team as the educator representative. |

The Department carries out a breadth of activities under the vision of advancing nutrition as the foundation of health and well-being. Dr. Petrosky also designed a new curriculum for first-year medical students and mentors all levels of students in research activities. |
