What do you see as opportunities for the future of the nutrition and dietetics profession?
The surge in global interest in food an nutrition affords RDNs and DTRs ever increasing opportunities such as in food production and manufacturing practices, sustainability, nutrient effect on health and nutrigenomics to name a few. RDNs need to be vigilant to capitalize on emerging opportunities. For example, RDNs need to drive prevention and treatment of malnutrition as well as demonstrate cost savings. In addition, RDNs need to redouble our efforts on expanding insurance coverage of MNT.
