Worked with MDA Districts on strategies for recruitment, retention, and educational opportunities for members and potential members. |
Starkville Rotary Club | President | 2013-2014 | Led the second-largest Rotary club in the district. Saw a net increase in membership over the previous year. Conducted a strategic planning retreat for the club to outline the goals for the next 5 years. Received the District Governor's Presidential Citation award for the 2013-2014 year. |
Mississippi State University Robert Holland Faculty Senate | President | 2017-2018 | Regularly met with Mississippi State University leadership to discuss issues related to the University and faculty. Worked to implement the ability for 100% research and extension faculty to earn tenure at Mississippi State University, which was approved during the prior year. Worked with the Faculty Senate Vice President to host a university roundtable focused on how to improve communication across the institution. The roundtable included members of the administration, the faculty senate, and members of the general faculty. Increased the participation of the MSU Staff Council, Student Association, and Graduate Student Association in regular senate meetings. Reinstituted the appointment of senators to standing university committees. |
Pushmataha Area Council-Boy Scouts of America | Council Commissioner | 2017-2023 | Served as a member of the Council Key 3 leadership. Met regularly with the Council Executive Committee and Executive Board in determining the functions of the council and the units and youth we serve. Served as the Roundtable Commissioner which promotes training and delivers information to the Unit leaders across the council. Working with BSA National, other councils, and our council leadership worked to find a solution for the BSA national bankruptcy and how does the program continue once a solution was defined. Worked with the leadership of the Yocona Area Council and Pushmataha Area Council to merge the two councils into the Natchez Trace Council to better serve the youth in our area, which increased to 22 counties in 2023. |
Mississippi State University | Faculty Athletics Representative | 2020-present | Appointed by MSU President Mark Keenum to serve as the university's faculty athletic representative to the NCAA and SEC. In this role, I serve as the institution's liaison on matters related to academic progress and well-being of our student-athletes. Work collectively with University Athletics on ensuring the safety, care, and academic progress of our student-athletes. Keep President Keenum abreast of issues related to student-athletes and academic-related matters. |
