Track state legislative issues of importance to members and oversee the affiliate's response to emerging opportunities and issues via state-wide action alerts. 3. Engage with appropriate leaders to manage practice matters. 4. Coordinate appointments with the Governor’s office, state legislators and other public officials to raise the profile of the association, including annual recognition of RDN day in March. 5. Act as a liaison with the Academy’s Director of Grassroots Advocacy to collaboratively consider the affiliate’s response to emerging opportunities and policies. 8. Identify state legislators who serve on committees with jurisdiction on issues impacting food, nutrition and health legislation. |
Cardiovascular Health and Well-being DPG of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics | CV-Well Content Expert | 2 years | 1. Collaborated with the Education Chair to plan and execute an annual plan of ongoing, CPE-focused educational programming (e.g. webinars, workshops, publication content, etc.) considering innovative modes of delivery and opportunities. 2. Maintained ongoing communication with the Education Chair and other ECC members, including regular meetings. 3. Communicated regularly with the Communications Chair and DPG Manager to ensure timely promotion of CV-Well educational events. 4. CV-Well Publication: A. Worked with the Education Chair to develop an online speaker proposal submission process for webinars. Ensured that topics address various practice levels and member experience (e.g. students and seasoned practitioners). Worked with the CV-Well DPG Manager to handle CPE approval through the Center for Lifelong Learning, speaker contracts, recording, and promotion. |
