Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics House of Delegates | DPG Delegate | 2018-21, 2021-24 | Served two terms as the Pediatric Nutrition DPG delegate within the Academy's HOD, fulfilling delegate responsibilities centered around proactive communication, seeking member input on issues affecting the profession, and participating in constructive collective dialogue on critical issues. In addition, volunteered as a PODS Group Facilitator, Table Facilitator, and Rapid Response Issue Task Force member during 2022 HOD Transformation. Actively participated in delegate think tank formed in response to 2021 proposed bylaws changes recommending dissolution of the HOD. |
Virginia Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Blue Ridge District | President-Elect, President, Past President | 2021-22, 2022-23, 2023-24 | Chaired event planning committee during president-elect term overseeing planning of fall conference, spring CPEU event, and working with Professional Recognition Chair on RDN Day celebrations. Served as voting member of VAND Board of Directors as well as chair of BRAND executive board during president term. Oversaw strategic planning, goal setting, committee and subcommittee activities, budgeting and financial reporting, and discussions around affiliate district/region structure. During past president term, also served as board treasurer and worked with student representative to provide monthly electronic communications. |
Pediatric Nutrition Practice Group (PNPG) | Chair-elect, Chair, Past Chair | 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17 | Serving as a past chair of PNPG has been one of the greatest honors of my career. In this role, I oversaw the Executive Committee, 4 standing committees, 4 ad hoc committees, and over 3000 members. I led the EC in the development of our 2016-2019 strategic plan, prepared a financial program of work, presented on Best Practices in Electronic Communications for DPG/MIG chairs, supported public policy and advocacy efforts with implementation of our DPG Reimbursement Representative, planned and moderated our PNPG Spotlight Session at FNCE, initiated 40th anniversary planning efforts, and worked with our first Executive Administrator to streamline processes and consistency for various PNPG operations. |

I've contributed to process efficiency, helped ensure accuracy of content, and been a part of overall vision and direction planning. |
PNPG | Editor/Co-editor | 2009-2013 | Co-editor and editor of PNPG Post quarterly newsletter from 2009-2011 and then PNPG Building Block for Life from 2011-2013. In these roles, I was responsible for the development and publication of quarterly newsletters featuring themed topics, CPEUs, educational resources, legislative issues, and practice points. I was also a member of the Communications Team during the critical time period when we completed our website redesign and implemented our current Electronic Communications team. |
