|CDR Liaison||Council on Future Practice||2021 - 2022||During my appointment as CDR liaison for CFP, I have been able to provide CDR's perspective on topics impacting future practice, as well as help with committee assignments.|
|Commissioner||Commission on Dietetic Registration||2017 - 2020||As Commissioner, I have held several leadership positions within the group, including Vice Chair of CDR, Chair of the Exam Panel, and Chair of the Appeals Panel. While in these positions, I was able to help shape and guide recommendations related to the certification and registration of RDNs, and NDTRs.|
|Chair Elect, Chair, and Past Chair||Cultures of Gender and Age Member Interest Group||2018 - 2021||During my appointment as Chair of COGA MIG, I worked along side the executive committee to merge together three previous MIGs (FPIND, NOMIN, and TUND) into one, and streamline our processes to ensure future success. As Past Chair, I played an active role in advising on organizational strategy, strengthening the group's diversity and inclusion commitments, and helping to identify and build upon member benefits.|
|Board Member||ANDPAC||2015 - 2017||On the ANDPAC board, I helped shape the advocacy and engagement strategy for the Academy, by helping to increase PAC funding through member donations. In addition, I worked collaboratively with other board members, key stakeholders, and opponents to demonstrate the impact of nutrition policy and define opportunities for compromise.|
|President Elect||Vermont Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics||2016 - 2017||As president-elect, my responsibilities included planning the annual meeting, working on the strategic plan for the organization, managing the fiscal assets of the affiliate and helping to strengthen the public policy efforts across the state.|
As a profession, we must remain diligent in creating and expanding opportunities for RDNs and NDTRs by increasing our reach in the areas of healthcare, research, community nutrition, industry, and technology. To do so, seeking out new opportunities to collaborate with and advocate for our profession with key stakeholders is crucial. We must also look inward and continue to have transparent and courageous conversations on how best to make our profession more inclusive and equitable. Our future is bright when we are all shining together!
