Nutrition and Dietetics Technician, Registered (NDTR) |
|
1. I attended a Job Task Analysis (JTA) for NDTRs in October 2024, which increased my experience in credentialing and associated issues. I learned so much about the process, and I'd love to learn more! 2. I set high standards for all of my centers and daycare homes. We're protecting kids' health - we can't afford to let things slide! 3. I learned a lot at the JTA in regards to accreditation and credentialing. Going through the process firsthand was also important. 4. I take all issues, whether professional or organizational, with stride. I work hard to handle conflict with integrity, and I can pass that along to all issues. 5. The world is making excellent changes to promote inclusion, diversity, equity, and access. I have a strong desire to continue to promote these changes in our field, as well. Each person, cultural identity, and ethnic background comes from a different experience, and we need as many of them at the table as possible! |

Leadership Experience
Leadership Position | Organization | Years Involved in the Organization | My specific leadership contributions, achievements and outcomes: | Leadership Skills used in this position: |
Task Force | Georgia Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics | 2023 - 2023 | Worked with members of the task force to review policies and procedures. | Even though reviewing policies and procedures may seem uninteresting to some, I enjoyed working with this task force from the Georgia Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. We reviewed the current policies and procedures and compared several documents to make changes. I learned so much about the approval process for higher level documents. We each reviewed sections and came together to discuss our findings. The group functioned like a well-oiled machine! |
Job Task Analysis (JTA) for NDTRs | Commission for Dietetic Registration | 2024 - 2025 | Served as a scribe for the food service group. Worked with members of the group to evaluate the current study guide for NDTRs and decide what information should stay on the exam and what should be excluded. |
I used my leadership skills at this opportunity by volunteering to serve as the note-taker. Interpersonally, it was amazing to work with so many people from different backgrounds and come together to set the backbone of the next NDTR exam. We agreed on just about everything, and definitely achieved the goal at hand (two hours early, I may add!) |
Nutrition TIGER Team | Child and Youth Services | 2023 - 2024 | Created a training document for CYS cooks | I was the team lead for the Training portion of this TIGER Team. I arranged a meeting with the other members and worked with them to create and make edits to a document on Canva. The document has not been given the go-ahead for use, but we are proud of it and have high hopes! It brought all of the training websites and assignments for the CYS cooks into one document. |
Personal and Campaign Statements
Nutrition is an amazing field with so many opportunities to help every single person, worldwide. With social media becoming more rampant and more people asking questions about the foods we put in our body, we have so much room to educate. Our field continues to research and discover incredible breakthroughs, and I stay updated on professional journals, as well as what people are talking about online. We are dealing with a changing world, and we can continue to use every opportunity to educate everyone on proper nutrition and food safety. We can’t afford to not pay attention to these trends!
I am passionate about meeting people where they are and sharing my expertise in nutrition and food safety. The knowledge we possess as nutrition professionals can literally save lives - let’s tell everyone!
